Sungai Relau, is an alternative entry point to Taman Negara or National Park. It is located west of Tanam Negara, about 8km from the small town of Merapoh, is marked by limestone hills with a number of caves. Noted for its biological resources, Sungai Relau is where you can enjoy caving and night safari. This is also one of the three embarkation point to Gunung Tahan. The trail here to the summit is shorter than the main route from Kuala Tahan with a return walk taking 6 days. Also note that fishing is forbidden here as it is a fish-breeding santuary, especially for the Kelah species (Malayan Masheer); instead you feed the fish and call them in a unique method. Accomodation includes hostel and campsides.
